MARKETING COORDINATOR
 
Community Action, Inc., a multi-purpose, non-profit organization serving Rock & Walworth Counties is seeking a self-directed individual to fill a 30 hour/week Marketing Coordinator Position. This individual will strategically implement intentional communication to promote and educate the staff and community relating to CAI programs and anti-poverty work. Responsibilities include: design and content of agency and program promotional materials, design and content of internal and external communications, publication of print and social media communications while fostering meaningful relationships. Individual must demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Community Action principles and anti-poverty work.

SUMMARY:      Responsible to the Planning and Development Director to strategically implement intentional communication to promote and educate the staff and community relating to CAI programs and anti-poverty work. Responsibilities include: agency and program promotional materials, design and content of internal and external communications, publication of print and social media communications while fostering meaningful relationships. Individual must demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Community Action principles and anti-poverty work.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for programs
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities of the agency including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of annual special events such as Gala and Twin Oaks golf outing. 
  • Responsible for design and content of intentional communication to promote, educate and inspire in the following mediums:
    • Monthly Inside Action Newsletter
    • Monthly External Newsletter through Constant Contact
    • Press releases
    • Twitter
    • Facebook
    • LinkedIn
  • Responsible for Community Action website design, content and design development and maintenance.
  • Maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships within local media, central partners, chamber of commerce’s, and business partners.
  • Implement formal mechanisms to maintain quality communication within and outside of the Agency
  • Complete related work as assigned within the scope of responsibility and skills required for the job

NON ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. 
·         Creation of multi-media presentations to educate and inspire general public on CAI programs and anit-poverty work.
·         Internal United Way Campaign Coordinator
  • Attend staff, department, agency and local community meetings as required.
·         Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or Graphic Design or equivalent experience and education.
  • Three to five years of proven marketing and graphic design experience related to anti-poverty work and non-profit agencies.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS: 
·         Ability to craft intentional messages to elicit a response within both verbal and written communication.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 
·         Knowledge of basic math facts: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions and percentages. 
·         Ability to translate numbers and statistics into marketing material.
 
REASONING ABILITY:  
·         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
·         Ability to solve problems requiring decision-making skills where limited standardization exists.
·         Ability to think creatively and craft intentional messages and educate and inspire.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
·         Access to reliable, licensed,insured driver and transportation.
 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with nonjudgmental approach and style
  • Competent in the operation of a personal computer and Microsoft office suite include Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient ability to follow basic budget and financial transaction procedures. 
·         Ability to work independently as well as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records/information and establish priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to cultural competence.
·         Highly competent in the ability to use web design and Adobe In Design software.
·         Ability to work on multiple projects and work in a deadline driven environment.
