RELEASE:

Community Action Secures New Location for Beloit Programs

BELOIT – Community Action is moving the base of its Beloit Operations to the Eclipse Center. CAI will initially occupy a 15,000 square foot space with room for future expansion. The move is scheduled for August of 2010 with a grand opening projected to take place in September of 2010.

Current CAI programs, Helping Urban Beloit (HUB), Fatherhood and Fresh Start will move from their current facilities and relocate at the Eclipse Center. CAI will also house additional employment and training services. Satellite locations of CAI Housing and Energy Programs and First Choice Women’s Health Center will operate in the space as well. The new facility will include a computer resource room, a child care area and a workshop for Beloit Fresh Start Youth and other program participants to hone their skills under staff supervision.

Another benefit of the move is the enhanced ability to collaborate with other institutions currently housed at the Eclipse Center such as; Beloit Area Health, Blackhawk Technical College, Beloit Library and the School District of Beloit. As our work continues, we will engage in strategic partnerships with these institutions to benefit Rock County residents.

“CAI has provided service to the Beloit community since its inception in 1965. We have experienced significant growth over the past few years, thanks in no small part to the support that CAI continues to receive from the Beloit Community. We continue to evolve as the needs of the community evolve and moving our Beloit services to the Eclipse Center will allow us to continue to address those needs for years to come.” Joseph Stadelman, President, CAI Board of Directors.
