Rakeem successfully completed the Community Action WIA In-School Youth Program in November of 2013. Rakeem received his high school diploma and went on to find gainful employment working for the School District of Janesville. In September 2015, Rakeem found himself unemployed and in need of help. Rakeem reached out to Community Action’s WIOA Out-of-School Youth program for assistance.

“Community Action is my first choice when I need help,” says Rakeem. “The staff are more than willing to help you. They are caring, honest and they really do want to see you succeed.”

Shortly after his enrollment in the WIOA program, Rakeem interviewed and was hired at the Boys & Girls Club in Beloit. His case manager says Rakeem is very respectful young man that has a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, which is difficult to teach. Rakeem has the abilities case managers are trying to teach other participants, so they too can be successful.
