Rakeem successfully completed the Community Action WIA In-School Youth Program in November of 2013. Rakeem received his high school diploma and went on to find gainful employment working for the Educational Services Center in Janesville.

In September 2015 Rakeem found himself unemployed and in need of help. Rakeem reached out to Community Action’s WIOA Out-of-School Youth program for assistance. When Rakeem was asked why he chose to come back to Community Action, he stated, “Community Action is my first choice when I need help. The staff are more than willing to help you. They are caring, honest and they really do want to see you succeed.”

Shortly after his enrollment in the WIOA program, Rakeem was hired at the Boys & Girls Club in Beloit. According to his case manager, “Rakeem is very respectful young man that has a positive attitude. Rakeem also possess a strong work ethic, which is difficult to teach. Rakeem has the abilities that we are trying to teach our other participants, so they too can be successful. Rakeem skills set, work ethic and commitment will take him far in life.”
